Melissa:
Melissa and her parents moved to Toronto, Canada from Hong Kong when she was just 3 years old and lived in Toronto's downtown China Town. At age 7, her parents would enroll Melissa in gymnastics. At age 11, Melissa began to study Kung Fu to compliment the natural agility she showed early in her practice of gymnastics. At age 13, her father moved back to Hong Kong when he recieved a highly esteemed career offering while Melissa and her mother stayed in Toronto, Canada still being supported financially by her father. However at age sweet 16, Melissa began to learn how to drive. With her mother in the passenger side seat, Melissa (still new at driving) was side swiped by another car and there was an accident. Melissa's mother did not survive it and Melissa moved in with her older cousin in a suburban area just north of Toronto known as Markham. With the loss of her mother, and the sudden changes that resulted, Melissa would discontinue her practice of gymnastics and kung fu to dwell in the world of drugs to cope with the mental pain, mainly with marijuana and ecstacy. Melissa would later discover that her cousin was deeply involved in the drug game operating and living in a marijuana hydro growing house and dealing with various other narcotics and illegal businesses. Although he would not let Melissa get involved in the gangster life, Melissa by this point was a chronic, and her cousin and her grew very close to each other. At 19 years old, just 3 years after the loss of her mother, Melissa would witness the death of her cousin by the hands of the police during a shoot out in a raid on her cousin's marijuana growing operation. From then on, Melissa had decided to be drug free but was numb ... almost mute and oblivious to the world around her. By this time, Melissa had dropped out of school and did not need to work, for her father would send money from Hong Kong for her to survive. With nothing to do all day, and with no enthusiasm to do anything, Melissa spent her time in a park just watching children play, day after day, wishing the world was a better place. It was during this time that she was approached by a mysterious man known as Jehu. Jehu took her under his wing, honing her foundation of martial arts, and honing the natural agility that was discovered during her gymnastics foundation, as well as giving her a focus in life with education in various topics, as well as secretly teaching her skills with various weapons and techniques. Jehu had known that Melissa had a natural agility and aptitude in martial arts and introduced her to a secret organization known only as the "Way". It was with the Way that Melissa had learned that the world is bigger then mere cops and robbers, and that people are not easily classified as one side or the other. From the numbness of the loss of her mother and cousin, to the focus and proper target learned by the Way, the knowledge of direction, and the wisdom to control that knowledge, Melissa would soon rise in the ranks of the Way being made into an assassin, trained to pick off specific targets rather then anything that could be hit. Years later, well honed and experienced, Melissa's most recent mission is during a party known as "Rabbit Hole" produced by a company by the name of Dinah Productions. And thus begins the story of Song of Songs the Comic Book ... |
