SONG OF SONGS THE COMIC BOOK #1 - Review by Koben Kelly
Newsarama. The story revolves around a group of friends and their adventure to the local hot-spot the
day after an incident of violence has erupted at a local hip-hop themed rave. A fight breaks out, and one of the gang
is seemingly kidnapped.
The dialog is realistic and full of b-boy character that draws you into this day in the life
of a group of beatnutz. Artwork is obviously influenced by graff-art and manga/anime, but it has a unique
and legitimate voice of its own. In raw style, I would compare this work to that of Sam Keith, but, honestly, I like
Song of Songs the Comic Book's work better.
Cleverly, it includes a drum-n-bass/jungle DJ in his cast of heds, displaying a comprehensive
knowledge of the massive urban scene. If you're interested, check this book out at www.songofsongsthecomicbook.com.
